Touch me! 10 new Windows 8 all-in-one PCs

Acer Aspire 5600U

The Acer Aspire 5600U is the first Windows 8 All-in-One (AiO) available from Acer. The 23-inch screen comes with ten-point multitouch, and a clever hinge design on the kickstand lets you place the screen at a range of angles from 30 to 80 degrees. The 1920-x-1080-pixel display is Full HD for entertainment and gaming.
The base system comes with an Intel Core i3 processor with 8GB of RAM.  You can also opt for a Core i5. The system comes with a 1TB hard drive, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth -- and of course, a wireless keyboard and mouse. (There is also a higher-end 7600U with a 27-in. display for $1,899.99.)
Price: Starts at $999.99.



Asus ET2300

Asus's new touchscreen ET2300 Windows 8 AiO has a double-hinged screen that lets you adjust the display to almost any angle that you'd want, including facing straight up. It is designed to deliver sound to match its display, with Asus SonicMaster technology and a subwoofer. It also comes with both four USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt ports for high-speed connectivity.
There are a number of models in the works. For example, the ET2300INTI-B022K has a full HD 23-inch LCD display with ten-point multitouch and an MSRP of $1,299. This configuration includes an Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of memory, a 1TB hard drive, and an Nvidia GT 630M graphics processor.

Dell XPS One 27

The Dell XPS ONE 27s touchscreen 27-inch display has "Wide Quad HD" resolution -- 2560 x 1440 pixels -- which is almost twice the pixels of a standard 1080p display. The screen stand has two hinges, so you can adjust it to a range of angles.
The top-of-the-line model ($2,599.99) is packed with power, including a 3.9GHz Intel Core i7 processor backed by 16GB of memory, a 2TB hard drive, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M graphics processor with 2GB of graphics memory. Dell also offers models with Core i5 processors, multitouch and no touch, 6GB to 16GB of RAM, 1TB to 2TB of memory, and integrated graphics or separate Nvidia GPU.

Gateway One ZX

The Gateway One ZX is aimed at consumers who want simplicity at a reasonable price. For example, the Gateway One ZX69-80 UR 308  ($849.99) offers a 23-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with a 2.8GHz Intel Pentium G640 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, and a DVD read/write drive. It also has a pair of USB 3.0 ports, plus four USB 2.0 connections.
A built-in webcam, WiFi and Bluetooth support, and wireless mouse and keyboard make it versatile, although its single HDMI port could be a limiting factor for some entertainment configurations. Other models are available, including one with a Core i3 processor and 6GB of memory.

HP Envy 23 TouchSmart

The HP Envy 23 TouchSmart is a ten-point multitouch AiO that comes with a 23-inch HD display. It is designed for entertainment with Beats Audio and an integrated speaker. It can sync photos automatically from a smartphone, and you can use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control.
Various configurations are available, including a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, 8GB to 16GB of memory, touch or no touch, 1TB to 3TB of hard drive storage, and DVD or Blu-ray SuperMulti DVD-RW optical drive. Systems also include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a memory card reader, and a wireless mouse and keyboard.

HP SpectreONE

Th HP SpectreONE is a high-end Windows 8 AiO that takes a different approach. It does not have a touchscreen -- instead, the sleek PC offers a 23.6-inch display with HD resolution, Beats Audio with built-in speakers, and a wireless keyboard and multitouch trackpad. It also offers TouchZone near field communication (NFC) so that users can tap their smartphone on the base to transfer content.
Other features include a 3.60GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 6GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive. (An optional SSD and ExpressCache are available.) You also get full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 so you can create your own digital content.

Lenovo IdeaCentre B540

The Lenovo IdeaCentre B540 from Lenovo comes with a 23-inch ten-point multitouch HD screen, which also supports 3D images using inexpensive passive glasses -- like the ones you get in the local cinema. You can even watch TV on it without booting up the computer.
It comes with an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a DVD or Blu-ray optical drive, and a 1TB or 2TB hard drive. There is also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Samsung Series 7

The Samsung Series 7 Windows 8 AiO starts with a direct price of $1,099.99 and a 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 processor. The 23.6-inch full HD display has both ten-point multitouch and gesture control using its built-in webcam. It has a 1TB hard drive and 6GB of memory, along with integrated graphics and a SuperMulti DVD optical drive. It has one HDMI input port and a second for output, two USB 3.0 ports and three USB 2.0 ports, and a wireless mouse and keyboard.
Other configurations are available with Core i7 processors, up to 8GB of memory, and AMD graphic processors. There is also a model with a 27-inch display.

Toshiba LX830 Series

The Toshiba LX830 Series from Toshiba is a line of Windows 8 AiOs with 19 different configurations. It starts with a non-touch model at $799.99 and goes up to the premium system with a price tag of $1,399.99.
The highest-end PC is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor backed by a whopping 16GB of RAM, along with an Nvidia GeForce GT 630M graphics engine with 2GB of graphics memory. The system comes with a 23-inch HD display, two 1TB hard drives, a SuperMulti DVD-RW optical drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a built-in webcam. Other models have Core i3, i5, or i7 processors; 6GB or more memory; and 1TB or more hard drive storage.

Vizio All-in-One Touch PC

The Vizio All-in-One Touch PC series is from a company that is best known for its HDTVs. So it's no surprise that these touchscreen computers are designed for entertainment.
There are three 24-inch and two 27-inch models that offer a variety of configurations. The highest end 27 inch model costs $1,539, which includes an Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M LE with 1GB of dedicated memory. It also has a 1TB hard drive and 32GB SSD that is used as a cache to boost performance. The system has an external subwoofer, a pair of HDMI inputs, and four USB 3.0 ports.
